The 6th Body – The Arcline

The 6th of our Ten Bodies, the Arcline, stands for justice, protection and projection. Women actually have two Arclines, the same one as men from earlobe to earlobe, and one that extends over the breasts from nipple to nipple.

The Arcline is your halo – the nucleus of the aura. The Arcline is your projection, your radiance. It gives you the ability to focus, to be concentrated, to meditate. The Arcline, associated with the pituitary gland, regulates the nervous system and glandular balance, thus protecting the heart center.

You can use the intuition of your sixth center to protect yourself, so that you can deal with the stresses of life without shutting down your heart. The projective power of the Sixth Body helps you manifest whatever you want in life. “I am, I am”, is the Arcline.

This is the balance point between he physical realm and the cosmic realm, referred to in Sikh Dharma as Miri-Piri. The 6th body is the point of unification between the higher and lower bodies, acting as a point of integration between the spiritual and the material.

If your Arcline is weak, you may be overprotective and easily influenced. You may have glandular imbalances, which can lead to inconsistency in your moods and your behaviour.

“I know that the unknown is known to me.” Yogi Bhajan

A strong Arcline, a strong projection… that’s what you want! If your thoughts and feelings create your reality by offering a vibration to the Universe, then your Arcline is the transmitter that sends out the signal. How strong or how weak your arc line is directly corresponds to the strength and integrity of the signal. Both intuitive information that you are receiving (protection) and the power of the information you are sending out (projection) are influenced by the Arcline. Arclines act as a mini-recorder, picking up vibrations and absorbing them. (Reference: Spirit Voyage)

The additional arc line on a woman (the one from nipple to nipple) is extremely sensitive in particular. It is that arc line which many Kundalini yoginis protect by wearing a chuni draped over their shoulders.

Guru Hargobind was the 6th Guru of the Sikhs. Known for balancing spiritual and temporal authority, he was also the saviour of many unjustly imprisoned princes during an age of oppression. He was the first Guru to go to the sword, to fight for the universal truth, for freedom.

The virtue of the 6th Body is therefore justice – “all just is” – which is also linked to fearlessness.

If you need to strengthen your Arcline, this is what you can do:

  • The mantras “Ang Sang Waheguru” and “Waheguru Wahejio” can help strengthen the 6th body. These mantras bring Divine consciousness into our present awareness, which strengthens the arc line.
  • Speak only truth. Do what you say you will do and practice what you preach. This strengthens the arc line.
  • If you are woman, try wearing a chuni when you meditate (or even try it in your daily life). It protects the delicate arc line on the breasts from absorbing unnecessary negativity.
